Coach Brown has over 25 years of coaching experience at most levels in the United States. He will be entering his 10th season of coaching in the USL, six with the Carolina Dynamo and four with the Delaware Wizards. During his stint with Delaware he led the Wizards to three Northeast Divisional Finals and was selected Atlantic Division Coach of the year in 1993. In 1999 the Carolina Dynamo advanced further than any other D3 team in the Lamar Hunt US OPEN CUP before bowing out of the tournament to the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer. In 2000 Brown was appointed Head Coach of the Region 1 team that competed in The US Soccer Festival.
In 2002 Coach Brown was inducted in the USL Hall Of Fame and named USL executive of the year. In 2003 The Carolina Dynamo won the USL Pro Select League Regular season championship and Brown was selected as Pro Select League Coach of the Year. He has been a staff coach for Delaware and Maryland’s Olympic Development Programs. Prior to his years in the USL Brown coached at the Junior college level At Delaware Tech for two seasons, his Spirit teams where ranked in the NJCAA top 20 both seasons and in 1991 the team reach a record high ranking of 10th in the Nation. Brown spent ten years coaching at the high school level at A.I Dupont High school in Greenville, Delaware, winning four Blue Hen conference titles and competing in the state playoffs eight seasons, including four state semi-final appearances. Brown holds an “A” License from the United States Soccer Federation. In June of 2005 with a 6-2 victory over Raleigh CASL Elite, Brown broke the record for most wins in the Club’s history. In 2007 Brown led the Carolina Dynamo to an undefeated PDL regular season national championship, only the seventh team to accomplish this in the 20 year history of United Soccer Leagues. The 2007 Dynamo advanced further than any PDL team in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup with victories over Cape Cod, Richmond Kickers (USL-2), Seattle Sounders (USL-1), before losing to the Houston Dynamo of MLS. MATT BROWN

Matt joins the Dynamo for his second season as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for the Dynamo. During the fall Matt serves as an assistant coach for the Greensboro College Men’s Soccer Team. As a player, Brown was four-year starter as goalkeeper for Greensboro College (2002-05). He posted a 37-16 record for GC and 0.87 goals against average. He played on three conference champion and NCAA tournament teams.
In 2005, Brown was named second team all South Region, first team all-conference and was picked to the USA South Tournament Team. While playing for the Dynamo Matt was a member of the 2004 PDL Eastern Division Championship team that advanced to the PDL semi-finals.
