Dynamo tops Cary Clarets 1-0
CARY – In a match where the second spot in the Mid-Atlantic Division standings was on the line, the Carolina Dynamo defeated the Cary Clarets 1-0 on Wednesday.
A 75th-minute goal from Sheanon Williams secured second place for the Dynamo and helps distance them from the rest of the pack in the division.
The Dynamo now stand two points ahead of Cary with 26 to Cary’s 24. The Reading Rage lead the division with 29 points, but 11 points now seperate Carolina and fourth-place Hampton Roads.
The win is the Dynamo’s fifth consecutive and their sixth in their last seven.
The Dynamo was unable to convert early opportunities but pressed on and eventually broke through with the game-winner in the 75th minute.
